Learning at Work Day - HMRC Dundee 27 November 2009

The Learning at Work Day, organised by PCS learning reps at HMRC Sidlaw House, proved very successful.

Many organisations were represented offering learning and development opportunities to the workers.

Around 600 workers at the site visited the displays, with many investigating the new learning opportunities on offer. “Show Racism the Red Card” material was distributed from the PCS stand.

The winners were announced for the very successful photography competition judged by Dundee Contemporary Arts experts. First prize went to Carole Adam who won her choice of a weekend arts course in the DCA. Runners-up prizes went to Jim Thompson and Brian Steele.

PCS East Scotland LGBT Rep, PCS Young Members Rep, Dundee Contemporary Arts, Open University, CraigOwl Communities – community learning, Skills Development Scotland, Countryside Rangers, University of Dundee (Evening Degree), Angus College, Civil Service Sports Council, HMRC Compliance, Revenue and Customs Sports and Leisure, Rowan Consultancy, University of Dundee Centre for Applied Language, University of Dundee Continuing Education, British Red Cross, Spring School, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Tayside Fire & Rescue, Tai Chi Classes, Royal National Lifeboat Institution, Tax Credit Office, Inland Revenue Enquiry Centre, Action for Southern Africa, Territorial Army - 2 (City of Dundee) Signals Squadron.

Visitors, exhibitors and HMRC Sidlaw House workers enjoyed the day, with many exhibitors saying they would like to be invited to attend again next year.
