Since the last edition of the Newsletter, Dundee College has started another programme of Digital Photography sessions which included basic, advanced and portrait photography plus image manipulation. Once again this has proved very popular with all the classes full once again. We will be running more classes in January and these will be advertised in Dundee College’s Winter Newspaper.

The Newspaper will be distributed to all DD postcodes within the Tayside area from Monday 29 October over a two week period. Anyone interested in joining a class over the winter months will need to book early, bookings are processed on a first come, first served basis with payment guaranteeing your place. You can make a booking by telephoning the Enquiry Bureau on (01382) 834800 or coming into the Overgate Learning Centre (Overgate Upper Mall, next to Primark).

If Learning Reps are looking for training for their members, please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss your requirements, as you will realise learning doesn’t always have to be vocational and we will try to do our very best to accommodate your requirements.

Remember the ILA threshold has been raised to £18,000 in order to qualify. If you need any leaflets on ILA funding, we have a small supply in the Learning Centre which we can give out (we also have leaflets in Community & Eastern Block languages). Please contact me on (01382) 314210.

Our Internet Access is proving to be a very popular feature within our Learning Centre and we are planning an official launch later in the year. Internet Access is available Monday-Saturday 9am-6pm (last logon 5.30pm) and Sunday 12 noon-4pm (last logon 3.30pm) and costs £1 for 30 mins. Printing costs are charged at 10p per sheet.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Overgate Learning Centre - Denise Scobie, Centre Manager
